We have the raw material: ancestral motifs, time-honoured techniques, and communal stories woven into fabric. Our task is to transform that cultural capital into sustained livelihoods and meaningful futures for our young people.

Wealth creation here is not a by word for exploitation. It is about dignity. It is about turning skill into income, talent into enterprise, and tradition into sustainable industry that honours both craft and craftsman.

When an Adire artist earns steadily, their household is strengthened; when their business grows, local supply chains thrive; when communities prosper, culture is preserved, not as an artifact behind glass, but as a living, transmitted practice.

In order to achieve this, we must enable the market. Creativity alone will never translate into prosperity unless it is matched by modern business architecture.

That means access to design development, quality inputs, affordable finance, logistics, branding, and digital marketplaces. It also means partnerships with fashion houses, interior designers, exporters, and cultural tourism operators.

We must build bridges from the dye pit to the runway, from the village loom to the global showroom.

In addition, we must empower the youth. If culture is to have a future, young people must feel invited into it, as makers, designers, marketers, entrepreneurs, and cultural managers.

Empowerment requires training that is relevant, accessible, and inspirational. In the same light, we appreciate Mr. Governor for his approval to train 25 youths each in the 332 wards of the Local Governments in the State.”
