A group identified as Waziri Atiku Political Family and Associates have reacted to the verbal attacks on ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar that his silence at the time the major opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is facing crisis may cost him the “denial of 2023 Presidential elections”.
In a Press Statement signed by the Spokesperson to the Waziri Atiku Political Family and Associates, Dr. Toyin Komolafe made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS, he said Atiku has always been a bridge builder whose interest in the survival of the party is paramount in his heart.
Komolafe added that, Atiku has met “with critical stakeholders at all levels of our party (PDP) preaching the message of peace and reconciliation and the need to eschew bitterness and acrimony.”

It is unthinkable and laughable for any one who know the history of our great party (PDP) and the person of Waziri Atiku Abubakar to insinuate that he would maintain indifference and silence in the face of the leadership crisis that rocked our party.
The former Vice President is not only reputed to be a renowned bridge builder and major rallying point in our party, it is on record that he has committed so much in terms of time, energy and resources to building the party to its present enviable state.
Known to be a silent achiever, Atiku met with critical stakeholders at all levels of our party preaching the message of peace and reconciliation and the need to eschew bitterness and acrimony.
He encouraged all to join him to reposition our party into a formidable political platform strong enough to capture power at the centre and majority of the states.
To now suggest in anyway that Atiku watched the party go down the drain, is like saying a man would watch the house he so laboured to build demolished in his very presence.
Atiku’s commitment to building a strong, virile party is not tied to 2023 at all.
He has always been a party man, a democrat to the core. It is a known fact that his wide consultations with major power blocks within our party, was largely responsible for dousing the tension that almost overwhelmed the party.
Waziri Atiku is a founding father figure in our party whose influence and network impacts positively on the party.”
