The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has recorded a major operational success in Zamfara State, eliminating more than 50 bandits and destroying key criminal facilities during a decisive air offensive aimed at restoring peace in the North-West.

The successful operation followed weeks of detailed intelligence gathering and surveillance, which exposed strategic locations being used by armed groups to plan and coordinate deadly attacks on rural communities and security personnel.

How the Operation Was Carried Out

According to a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strikes were executed under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, Sector 2.

He explained that sustained surveillance activities revealed unusual movements of armed elements in the area, as well as a zinc-roofed structure believed to be a major coordination and logistics hub for criminal operations.

Major Blow to Bandit Networks

Air strikes on the identified locations resulted in the destruction of the command facility, weapons storage points, and other critical infrastructure used by the bandits. More than 50 armed criminals were neutralised, significantly degrading the operational capacity of the group.
