THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP faction loyal to the the Minister of the Capital Territory, Nyesom Woke has taken over the leadership structure of the party with the appointment of new Acting National Chairman.
The faction National Chairman was the former Vice Chairman North Central, Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, his name has been forwarded to the INEC for official recognition.
“After a meeting of the PDP NWC held on November 1st 2025, it was resolved among other issues that Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed, the Vice Chairman North Central, in line with the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been appointed as the Acting National Chairman to replace the suspended National Chairman Amb Umar Iliya Damagum.

This appointment is in accordance with the party’s constitution and we kindly request that all necessary steps be taken to recognize him in his new capacity.
