A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Governor Seyi Makinde expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, Ayo Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeeb Ajibade, Austin Nwachukwu and others for anti party activities.
The decision was taken on Saturday , November 15, 2025 to restore unity, discipline ahead of the 2027 general elections, the statement reads.
The unsigned document was posted on the official X Page of the PDP monitored by SOJ WORLDWIDE.

“In a landmark move to restore unity, discipline, and focus ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at its ongoing 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, has expelled high-profile members Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), former Governor Ayo Fayose, Hon. Austin Nwachukwu, and several others.
The decision which was promptly ratified by an overwhelming majority of delegates, underscores the party’s commitment to eradicating internal divisions and anti-party conduct that have plagued its progress.

“MOTION FOR THE EXPULSION OF THE FOLLOWING PERSONS FROM THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY FOR ANTI PARTY ACTIVITIES AND GROSS BREACHES OF THE PARTY’S CONSTITUTION PURSUANT TO ARTICLES 10 (6) & 58(1), (B), (C),(F),(1), (J) & (L) AND 59(1)(G) OF THE PDP CONSTITUTION 2017 (AS AMENDED).
MOVED AT THE ELECTIVE NATIONAL CONVENTION OF THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY HELD AT IBADAN, OYO STATE ON THE 15TH AND 16 NOVEMBER, 2025.

WHEREAS by Articles 33(2) (1), (2) (j) (n) & (r) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Constitution 2017 (as amended), the National Convention of the Party shall have supremacy in all matters pertaining to the Party and all officers and organs of the Party including matters of discipline of officers and members;
WHEREAS it is important to underscore the fundamental principles that a political party is a voluntary organization and members are expected to join it out of their volition as allowed by Section 40 of the Constitution of the FRN 1999 (as amended) and are to be bound by its fundamental principles and aspirations as expressed in its Constitution;
WHEREAS the persons mentioned above have committed various breaches of the Party’s Constitution including supporting and canvassing votes for opposition.”
