According to the statement, the restriction is to enable the conclusion of burial rites of the traditional ruler of the community, Oba Samuel Fadahunsi, who joined his ancestors on September 17 having ruled since September 22, 2002.

The statement said the restriction and burial rites were in fulfillment of the customs and traditions of the people of Ijan-Ekiti.

It regretted any inconvenience the restriction might cause to the general public, especially to road users.

Oba Fadahunsi got his staff of office in April 2003.

He succeeded Oba Adeyemo Obarinde who passed on in February 2000, after 48 years on the throne.
