The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Osun State Office has strongly refuted allegations made by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) regarding “statistically implausible figures” of pre-online registration in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
INEC emphasized that Osun State has consistently demonstrated remarkable civic enthusiasm and responsiveness to voter registration, leading all other states in online pre-registration before the 2022 Governorship Election and 2023 General Elections.
INEC clarified that online pre-registration is only the first step in the voter registration process and does not automatically confer voter status without biometric capture.
The Commission urged stakeholders to celebrate the impressive turnout as evidence of growing democratic awareness rather than spreading baseless insinuations.
INEC advised political parties to cross-check facts with the Commission before rushing to the press with unfounded allegations.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring transparency, credibility, and inclusiveness in all electoral processes.

INEC urged political parties to join hands in sensitizing and mobilizing eligible Nigerians to participate in the CVR exercise.
INEC assured the public that the ongoing CVR exercise is being conducted in accordance with the Electoral Act 2022, INEC guidelines, and global best practices.
The Commission will not be swayed by unsubstantiated claims and will continue to discharge its mandate with fairness, integrity, and transparency.
