THE Director of Procurement at the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA), Mrs. Serifat Olubukola Talabi has died four days to her retirement and 60th birthday.
The highly respected civil servant was reportedly hit by a vehicle on Saturday, October 18, 2025, while attempting to cross the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Camp in Ibafo, Ogun State.
Tragically, Mrs. Talabi’s passing comes just four days before her retirement and 60th birthday thanksgiving celebration, which was set to hold on October 22, 2025, at the NERDC Conference Centre, Ikeja.
Invitations had already been shared among friends, family, and colleagues, who were eagerly preparing to honour her years of selfless service.
Described by those close to her as diligent, warm-hearted, and deeply devoted, Mrs. Talabi was looking forward to celebrating a lifetime of achievement but fate had other plans.
Her death has sent waves of grief through the Lagos State workforce, as colleagues and friends continue to pay tribute to a woman remembered for her humility, dedication, and motherly spirit.
This tragedy serves as a powerful reminder of how precious and unpredictable life is, urging us all to live with purpose, gratitude, and compassion. 🕊️
