The League of Imams and Alfas, Osun State Chapter, met today in Osogbo to review the state of affairs in Osun State and make decisions for progress, unity, and development. After exhaustive discussions, the assembly resolved as follows:
1. Commendation for President Tinubu The league commends President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his efforts to reform the national economy and make life better for Nigerians.
2. Appreciation for Governor Adeleke: The assembly praises Governor Ademola Adeleke for his diplomatic leadership style, ensuring sustained growth and development in Osun State.
3. Local Government Crisis:
The league calls on all parties to comply with the rule of law, as affirmed by the June 22nd Court of Appeal ruling, which confirmed the legitimacy of elected PDP chairmen and councillors.
4. Release of Withheld Allocations: The assembly appeals to President Tinubu to direct the immediate release of Osun’s withheld allocations and recognition of PDP elected officials.
5. Voter Registration:
The league commends Osun State citizens for their massive turnout in the voter registration exercise and urges those who registered online or haven’t collected their voter cards to do so promptly.
6. Peace Among Muslim Scholars: The meeting appeals for peace among warring scholars within the South West Ummah, requesting that the debate be taken off social media.
The league emphasizes that exercising voting rights is a religious duty and tasks Muslim office holders to ensure implementation of their resolutions.
