Governor Mohammed Bago of Niger State has terminated the appointments of 30 special advisers as part of efforts to restructure governance in the state.

The decision was announced on Tuesday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, who said the move was aimed at revamping the administration to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in line with the governor’s New Niger agenda.

While no details were provided on the new appointments or reassignments, the statement emphasised that the action was part of Governor Bago’s broader plan to rejig and reposition key portfolios for improved service delivery.

He said the governor announced this during his maiden Council meeting with his newly sworn-in commissioners at the council chamber in Government House, Minna.

Bologi explained that

“the termination of their appointment was to allow the governor to rejig and reposition their portfolios with a view to making them more effective and efficient in line with his New Niger agenda.”

He said the governor appreciated them for their sacrifices and contributions towards the success of his administration and wished them well in their future endeavours.
