Headless body of Omoku youth president – Residents of Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State are in shock after gunmen killed two persons, including a youth leader, in a violent attack.
The Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Security and Planning Advisory Committee (OSPAC) later recovered the headless body of the abducted youth president from a nearby forest.
Gunmen Strike in Omoku
The incident happened on Thursday evening in Omoku town.
Eyewitnesses said armed men arrived in two vehicles and stormed a popular relaxation spot along Palace Road. The attackers reportedly targeted the President of the Omoku Youth Federation, Comrade Ifeanyi Azuazu.
The gunmen ordered him to enter their vehicle.

Aide Shot Dead During Attack
During the confrontation, the youth leader’s personal aide, identified as Chigozie Oluwu, tried to stop the attackers.
The gunmen shot him dead on the spot.
They then abducted the youth president and fled, leaving residents and business owners running for safety.
OSPAC Recovers Headless Body in Forest
After the abduction, OSPAC operatives launched a search operation.
On Friday, they discovered the headless body of the youth president in a forest around the Omoku axis. The discovery confirmed fears that the abducted leader had been killed.
OSPAC officials alerted other security agencies immediately.
Police Confirm Cult-Related Violence
The Rivers State Police Command confirmed the killings.
Police described the incident as cult-related and said investigations are ongoing. The Commissioner of Police ordered intensified operations to arrest those responsible.
Community Mourns, Security Concerns Grow
The killings have thrown Omoku and nearby communities into mourning.
Residents condemned the violence and called for increased security presence to prevent further attacks.
