The Osun State Police Command has arrested six suspected notorious cultists and recovered two guns, cutlasses, axes, and other exhibits.
The arrests were made following intelligence-led and proactive policing by the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Command.
– Two suspects were arrested during a student union week in a higher institution in the state.
– Four suspects were apprehended in Okuku town for terrorizing residents.
– Exhibits recovered include cut-to-size guns, sharp cutlasses, an axe, and live cartridges.

The names of the suspects include; Taiwo Oluwatobi ‘m’ age 29yrs a.k.a ‘ORIFE’ and Oluwabusuyi Ajayi ‘m’ age 29yrs a.k.a ‘AGA’, ) Ayodeji Ismail ‘m’ age 20yrs, (ii.) Owolabi Omobolaji ‘m’ age 20yrs, (iii.) David Oluwatomisin ‘m’ age 26yrs and (iv.) Kolawole Segun ‘m’ age 22yrs.
Exhibits recovered are; (1) one cut to size single barrel gun, (2) one cut to size double barrel gun, (3) five sharp cutlasses, (4) one axe and (5) three lives cartridges.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, has warned students to focus on their education and avoid cultism. He emphasized that the law will not spare anyone involved in such acts, urging everyone to “SAY NO TO CULTISM”.
