OSUN State Resident Electoral Commissioner of Indepe, Dr. Mutiu Agboke has called on residents in Osun State to collect their existing Permanent Voters Cards while the registration is ongoing.

He made the statement at the 9th Edition of the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) Media Parley held at their Ajegunle Secretariat, Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Dr. Agboke, in an interactive sessions with the Publishers enjoined those whose voters cards are still with the State electoral body to come forward with evidence of ownership to collect their cards.

According to him, the commission have over 300,000 uncollected PVCs.

He advised the media to always be on the same page with the Electoral body,

“what you have been doing is a good effort, I monitor and read about everybody, so far, I have not seen anything negative. Please, if you have any information to clarify, you can reach out to me anytime.”

When asked about those who were arrested for various electoral offences in the 2022 governorship elections, The REC said six offenders were arraigned and convicted in the state.

“We have a procedures when it comes to prosecutions of electoral offenders, don’t forget, the powers of investigations lies with the police. Until they conclude their investigations, we can’t say somebody is a criminal.

So, those people that were submitted, six of them, they were the ones that were prosecuted and conviction was secured, for us in Osun, that sealed the number of prosecutions that we have.”
