On Thursday, April 14, 2022, armed men suspected to be members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) stormed a Continuous Voters Registration Centre in Imo State and gunned down an INEC Official, Mr. Nwokorie Anthony with a warning that there is not going to be election in the area.

According to the Press Release by the National Headquarters of INEC, two of their staff are still missing.
