SPECIAL Tribute To Music Sensation Monsurat ASIKOMITITO On Her Sabaka Day And Birthday

ALHAJA Olanrewaju Monsurat Abolore popularly known in the music parlance as Asikomitito celebrates her Sabaka Day and Birthday on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

Asikomitito started her music career from the humble beginnings at Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State at her tender age.

Asikomitito was born in Olaese compound in Ikirun to the family of Alhaji Ibrahim Olanrewaju. She attended her primary and secondary education in Ikirun and Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Osun State.

According to Asikomitito, she discovered herself from her local Mosque as a child,

“I discovered myself as a singer and lead vocalist as a child from our local Mosque at Orisa in Ikirun. That was when I started my musical career but there was a halt while in school because I could not combine the two.

It was after I completed my education at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree that I started my music fully.

All her efforts to get a promoter to promote her music had been fruitless until she met Elemo-Aga who discovered her in-built talents and sponsored two of her albums, Igbiyanju, My Mother and other singles.

“I have been ‘roughing it’ for long, the 20 Years On Stage I celebrated last year was more than the years I had been in music, I just limited it to that number of years. 

It had been very tough for me to get a promoter in the beginning until God sent High Chief Oluomo Elemo-Aga, Chief Bamidele Onifade to me. I have released some albums before I met Oluomo, the ones that brought me to limelight under him are Igbiyanju, My Mother and many other singles.

We are not there yet but I thank Almighty Allah for all that He has done for me and my group.

I want to specially thank God and Oluomo Elemo-Aga, High Chief Bamidele Onifade for promoting me at the time I needed him most. Allah shall continue to grant him long life and sound health to continue to render his assistance to mankind.
