AS part of its commitment to strengthening data storytelling skills in the newsroom, The Harbinger, an independent Nigerian media outlet will host a virtual training titled “Using Canva to Design Infographics: A Modern Approach to Data Journalism.”
The training is scheduled to take place on August 30, 2025, via Google Meet, and it is open to both professional and budding journalists, media practitioners, and digital storytellers across Nigeria and beyond.

Application closes on August 20, 2025.
The session will be facilitated by Emmanuel Salako, a seasoned data journalist with Dataphyte, known for his expertise in data-driven storytelling and visual communication.
Participants will learn how to effectively use Canva, a user-friendly design platform, to turn complex datasets into compelling infographics.
According to the organisers, the training will cover key elements of visual storytelling, including chart selection, design principles, data accuracy, and embedding visuals seamlessly into news content.
