
Tinubu Visits Plateau – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned trip to Iperu in Ogun State and will instead travel to Plateau State to commiserate with families who lost loved ones in recent attacks, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security and justice.
The President made this known in an official statement on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stressing that standing with the people of Plateau State during this difficult period is his immediate priority.
According to the statement, Tinubu will be in Jos, the Plateau State capital, to meet with grieving families and communities affected by the tragic attacks and reassure them of the Federal Government’s support.
“I have postponed my trip to Iperu, Ogun State. My first duty at this moment is to stand with the people of Plateau.”
Tinubu Visits Plateau To Show Solidarity
The President explained that his visit to Plateau is aimed at commiserating with families who lost loved ones and reaffirming that those responsible for violence will face justice.
“I will be in Jos to commiserate with families who have lost loved ones and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail. We will continue to strengthen our security response and ensure that justice is done,” Tinubu said.

Infrastructure And Economic Engagements
The President further revealed that he would continue with scheduled engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa States after the Plateau visit.
“From Plateau, I will proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday, and then continue with scheduled engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa focused on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth.”
The engagements are part of ongoing efforts by the Federal Government to strengthen infrastructure development, boost trade, and improve Nigeria’s economic growth.
Call For Unity
Tinubu called on Nigerians to remain united during moments of grief and continue working together to build a stronger nation.
“In moments of grief, we must stand together. In moments of progress, we must keep building. The work continues. Nigeria First.”
