The Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Mr. Olusola Ayodele, says the agency has held meetings with the management of the Osun State University and leaders of Oke Baale community in order to stop the incessant disappearance of students of the university.

The commandant said this on Thursday during a briefing on the activities of the command.

Ayodele said he would not disclose the strategy which the agency would deploy, adding that the NSCDC would collaborate with sister agencies to stop kidnapping  and other crime in Oke Baale area.

The commandant said, “We have our strategy in place. We are collaborating with the policen and other agencies. We will fish out the people tormenting the area.

“We have met with the school authority and community leaders on how to curb this menace. We will not allow criminals to turn the place into a no go area for law abiding citizens.”

Meanwhile, some of the students of UNIOSUN told our correspondent on Thursday that the 400-level student of the Microbiology Department  of the university, Oluwafemi Shonibare, who went missing on Monday had started a “special prayer for him.”

One of the students, who did not want to be identified told our correspondent that the prayer was for his safe return.

He said, “We are worried because this is the fourth day since he disappeared.”
