Comfort Emmanson, the passenger involved in the August 10, 2025 Ibom Air incident, has been discharged by an Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos after the police withdrew the five charges against her.
The court granted the withdrawal application following a request by the prosecution counsel, Oluwabunmi Adeitan, who cited new developments in the case.

The police withdrew the charges after Ibom Air agreed to drop its complaint against Emmanson, as announced by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.
Keyamo stated that the decision was reached after reviewing the incident, considering appeals from well-meaning individuals, and noting the remorse shown by Emmanson.
The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has agreed to lift the lifetime flying ban imposed on Emmanson.
Emmanson was released from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after meeting the necessary requirements following her discharge by the court.
Emmanson was accused of unruly behavior and assault on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos on August 10, 2025.
She was arraigned on Monday and granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties, but was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for failing to meet the bail conditions.
