The news reaching SOJ WORLDWIDE confirmed the disqualification of the Labour Party Governorship Candidate for Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour from contesting Saturday, March 18, 2023 Governorship election in the State.

The Court ruled that Professor Ifagbemi Awamaridi is the legitimate candidate to contest the election under the banner of the Labour Party (LP).

The Press Release emanated from the Lagos State Chapter of the party was signed by the State Secretary of the party, Sam Okpala.

In a tweet by the Director of Media and Publicity, Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, he wrote in his Official Twitter Page,

“Labour Party in Lagos drops Gbadebo Chinedu as governorship candidate, announces Professor Ifagbemi Awamaridi as the court recognized candidate.”

The veracity of this news was not known as at the time of filing this report as there was no reaction from the Spokesperson of the Labour Party to debunk or confirm it.
