AHEAD of the commencement of the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, exercise, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for Osun State, Dr Mutiu Agboke, has urged Electoral Officers, EOs, and Heads of Departments, HODs, stakeholders including the media across the state to intensify public awareness.
Speaking at a stakeholders meeting with the officials on Tuesday, August 13, 2025, Dr Agboke commended their outreach efforts, including visits to religious centres and traditional palaces, describing such engagements as vital in building public trust.
He encouraged strict supervision of staff and the promotion of a peaceful and cooperative work atmosphere.
“A harmonious workplace boosts morale, enhances responsibility, and strengthens accountability.
“All electorates in Osun are now aware of INEC responsibility CVR for next year’s election.
“Leverage more on the success and don’t go to sleep. The success is a welcome development.”
While appreciating the INEC personnel, he a charged them to know that work has just started and advised them to allow the tempo to continue.

“This gives a signal of readiness and preparation. Look at their peculiar terrain. I have two expectations from you.
“You must know that people are monitoring you and you must take punctuality serious since it is very important at this point in time.”
He reiterated the Commission’s commitment to inclusivity, directing that necessary support be provided to Persons with Disabilities, PWDs, to ensure their full participation in the electoral process.
The INEC REC also said the commencement of the schedule for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) online pre-registration will open on Monday, August 18, 2025.

Prospective voters are advised to first visit the INEC portal, cvr.inecnigeria.org to supply their personal details.
Physical biometric capture at designated centres across the state will then commence one week later, on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Religious leaders at the event called for peace at the forthcoming election and their resolve to sensitize their members in all mosques and churches across the state.
Meanwhile, all participating political party leaders in the State took turns to receive election guidelines and Time Table ahead of the election from the REC.
Heads of security agents including the Police, DSS, NSCDC, Immigration promised to make sure that peace and orderliness is maintained before, during and after the election.
