Joe Igbokwe is known for his thorough and his frank outbursts and his love for a Nigerian nation, he has not hidden his dislikes for the ways and manners the proscribed leader of the Indeginous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Leader, Nnamdi Kanu is going about in his struggles for a Biafra nation.

In an interview with BBC Pidgin, Igbokwe said he thanked God when Nnamdi Kanu was arrested because he (Kanu) ordered his boys to behead him and kill all his family members because he was opposed to Biafra nation.
He said he knew what he and his parents suffered during the last civil war and he would not like to see the repeat of it. He went further that he never knew it has gotten to that level because he was opposed to the Biafra agitations. He has seen the civil war when Kanu was not born.

“I am older than him, I saw the civil war, he didn’t see the civil war. I know what I went through, I didn’t go to school during the civil war, I was in primary five when the war started in 1967 and after the war I started again in primary five. And I understand what played out, the casualties, the pains, the tears, the losses.”
“My father lost his business for that three years. Do we have to go through this way again? Haven seen it all because I know what he does not know. I have seen what he has not seen because I have the experience. Has it come to this that if you have a dissenting voice you have to be killed…?”
He said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the experience, the pedigree to govern Nigeria very well.
