The first edition of Miss Polo Nigeria was marred with fraud.
One of the contestants who emerged winner of the first edition of the contest in November 2017, Miss Adeola Precious ADEOYE but to represent Nigeria in 2018 was denied the opportunity by the organizers.
The President of Miss Polo Nigeria, Ibife Alufolu in her Instagram Page clearly stated that the Crown Queen of Miss PoloNigeria 2018 is to represent the 1st edition of Miss Polo International in 2018. But this was not the case with the winner, she was replaced by the organizers with her runners-up, Miss Stella OKHUELEIGBE.
Miss Adeoye was not only denied to represent Nigeria at the International event she was also denied all the prices attached to the winner like a car and other allowances.

Read her touching story

Miss Adeola who was 18 at the time of the event narrated her ordeal, this is her unedited story, “The Panel of Judges chose me as the winner of the first edition of Miss Polo Nigeria held at Port-Harcourt in November 2017. I was expected to represent Nigeria at the Polo International but that was not to be as the organizers announced my runners-up, Miss Stella Okhueleigbe to represent Nigeria instead of me.”
“I can remember the Judges asked if Mrs Ibefe can groom me and she said yes, and now she changed it by saying the judges said any of the three can represent Nigeria.”
“After the pageant, I and the other contestants were lodged in an hotel then she called and said she wants us to see a Commissioner in Port-Harcourt but where I will spend the night is a problem she told me to tell my mum to get a hotel
“She later called and said I should tell my Mum to book for my flight but my mum’s aunty was in Port-Harcourt and wanted me to see her that was how I stayed back and went to see the Commissioner.”
“I paid for my makeup because Mrs Ibife said she is not going to pay and I am not supposed to see the Commissioner without looking beautiful, so I had to pay for my own make up, I started wondering at this point why am I her queen, it is unfair to do that but I waved it.”

After seeing the Commissioner I came to Abuja and these are the things she asked me to do;
1. I should remove my agency from my bio as I no longer belong to them she said I can’t have two masters at a time.
2. She asked me to do a shot with my crown, and I spoke to a photographer about it but he was reluctant because I didn’t want to pay, he believed I won Miss Polo Nigeria. It wasn’t so easy to tell everyone that I wasn’t giving a cash price even my ticket wasn’t paid for.
I explained to Mrs Ibife but she told me she is not giving me any money that Polo did not promise to give me anything, the photographer agreed to do the shoot and we did it, but eventually he had issues with his device.

“She later came to Abuja and we went to see a Senator Yayi Olamilekan Adeola. I was told to lie that I’m from Ikeja and I’m from Lagos State, then the Senator asked where I stay in Lagos and I told him Magodo, the Senator asked them what I was given, Mrs Ibife told him that I flew from South Africa and they have me an official car and wardrobe allowance, which was not true.
“And that was what I told my mum when I got home before that I left my crown and cash with her because she said we’ll be going back the next day. Then my mum decided to call her and asked her why she did that she started shouting at my Mum telling her she expected a thank you from my Mum because of the dress she gave me, she spoke to my Mum in a very rude way and told her ‘all na packaging.’ – That was her story.
It was gathered that Misspolonigeria instagram page has blocked their Queen.
Furthermore, it was said that Miss Adeoye’s lawyer reached out to Miss Polo Nigeria but got no response from them till date, the young Nigeria female model want justice, it’s no news that most Models are mistreated and used, the change and justice can start with her.

Below is the letter from her lawyer to MissPoloNigeria

The above refers!
I write to introduce myself: Patrick E-James, a journalist, an award winning author, a P.R Practitioner and a member of Advertisers Practitioners Council of Nigeria as the representative of Miss Adeoye Adeola, winner: Miss Polo, Nigeria, 2018.
I want to congratulate your organization for successfully organizing Miss Polo pageant last year, November 2017 and for crowning Miss Adeoye Adeola as the winner.
As a Management Member of World Beauty Organization, I know a few things about pageant.
I put it to you that you have not been fair in your dealings with Miss Adeoye Adeola since she won the coveted crown. #
She was left without a Chaperon; there has been no communication of any sort with her, yet, I was made to understand that your organization told Senate that you gave her a brand new car as a prize and that every month you give her wardrobe allowance. These and more she is entitled to, but I put it to you that you have abandoned her since she won the pageant and did not support her in any way neither have you given her any dime. So, the above claim is false.

As if neglecting her is not enough, your organization went ahead to pick the first runners up: Miss Stella Okhueleigbe to represent Nigeria in the fourth coming Miss Polo International Pageant. This you communicated to the public through your press release of March 12, 2018. This to me is a day light robbery. It is not right. And this is the reason for this communication.
We are peaceful people but we know our rights. We are requesting for a meeting with your organization therefore to clarify issues, and if we are not happy with whatever resolution you arrive at, we are not careful to let you know that we will escalate our actions.
I can be reached on: 08102723140, or by email: pewaoluwadavid@gmail.com
We hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you.
