Aisha Yesufu Breaks Silence on ADC Exit, Reveals Next Big Step

Aisha Yesufu joins NDC – Prominent activist and political advocate, Aisha Yesufu, has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), declaring her support for Peter Obi ahead of the next political cycle.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Yesufu said the coming days would shape the future of Nigeria. She explained that her latest political move was driven by her belief in Obi’s leadership and vision for a better nation.

“The next couple of days will define the future of this nation. This deeper understanding is why I resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) as I follow the leadership of HE Peter Obi, who today embodies the hope and aspiration of a Nigeria that works.”

Furthermore, Yesufu stressed that she remained committed to keeping her promises and standing firmly by her political convictions.

“When I give my word, I keep it. My decision to support HE Peter Obi first led me to the ADC. To continue to honour the promise, I am joining the NDC.”

The activist also revealed that she would not only participate in the party as an ordinary member. Instead, she announced her intention to contest for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat under the NDC platform.

“This time, I am joining the NDC not just as a member but as one running for the FCT Senatorial seat.”

Meanwhile, she disclosed that she had completed all necessary processes to ensure a smooth and transparent exit from the ADC.

“I have tidied up all my obligations to the ADC, ensuring a clean transition.”

In addition, Yesufu appreciated members of the ADC for the opportunity to serve in several leadership positions during her time in the party.

“I was fortunate to work with great and amazing people whose goal was a better country. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served as sub-committee chair, deputy committee chair, and secretary at various levels.”

According to her, the experience gained during her time in the ADC would remain valuable, while she also thanked party members for their support and cooperation over the years.

“The experience has been invaluable, and I thank everyone for their support and cooperation.”
