Asiwaju Bola Tinubu meets Chief Oyegun after over a year of faceoff

The National leader of APC and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu met face to face with the National Chairman of the party Wednesday night.
The meeting was at the instance of the new appointment of Asiwaju Tinubu by President Buhari to resolve the lingering crisis in APC.
The National Leader made his first move of reconciliation to the National Working Committee led by the APC Chairman, Chief Odiegie Oyegun.

Tinubu who was recently appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to lead the reconciliation process of members of the party said at the meeting on Wednesday that the change Nigerians seek cannot be served like instant coffee, it has to be gradual.
The APC Chieftain said his mission is to seek opinions and advice on the various conflicts within the party both at state or national level, to reconcile and move the party in a cohesive manner, and reposition if any.

“We have never governed before, but we won the confidence of Nigerians to govern. As it is to serve the country, change and reform the country. It is not easy to have those change implemented like instant coffee.
“We have to face challenges, so my mission is to reconcile, and reposition if any and build confidence,” he said.
Odigie-Oyegun in his welcome address to Tinubu and his entourage said it was necessary for the APC to put its house in order in preparation for 2019 elections.
