Six Celestial Church Worshipers Kidnapped: How The Attack Happened
Eyewitnesses explained that the gunmen invaded the church at dawn while worshippers were already praying. Immediately, the attackers fired shots into the air to create fear. Consequently, many members ran for safety, but the assailants seized six worshippers and dragged them into the nearby bush.

Panic Spreads Across The Community
Following the abduction, fear has spread among residents and commuters along the Benin–Owo corridor. In addition, community leaders have condemned the attack and described it as devastating and unacceptable because it targeted a place of worship.
Meanwhile, relatives of the victims have cried out in anguish. They now wait anxiously for any contact from the kidnappers.
Police Launch Rescue Operation
The Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State has confirmed the incident and has launched a rescue operation. Furthermore, the police have deployed tactical teams and local vigilantes to search nearby forests and secure the highway.
According to a police spokesperson, security agencies are working tirelessly to rescue the victims and restore calm. Therefore, authorities have urged residents to stay calm and share useful information that can help track the kidnappers.
Rising Security Concerns In Ondo
This attack has increased existing security concerns in Ondo State, especially around Owo and neighbouring communities. Over time, several kidnapping incidents have occurred along this corridor.
Security analysts also warn that the Benin–Owo axis has become a target because it links major routes between the southern and northern regions. As a result, criminals often exploit the busy road.
Call For Vigilance

Additionally, they advised travellers to remain alert and take precautions while moving along the expressway.
