SPEAKER of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Timothy Owoeye raised alarm on Saturday morning that PDP members are harassing APC supporters who came to exercise their voting rights in Ilesha East Local Government Area of Osun State.

Owoeye issued the statement on the Rave FM phone-in program saying one of their members was machetted and rushed to the hospital.

When asked if there was no security presence, Owoeye who sounded dejected said he doesn’t know.

The Chairman of PDP in the State, Hon. Sunday Bisi debunked what Owoeye has said. He added that the Speaker was the one leading the thugs and there was sporadic shootings and people are running helter skelter.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Osun State, SP Yemisi Opalola reiterated that the ‘no movement order” issued by the Police Command on Friday is still in force, there should not be any vehicular movement until 6pm today.

She warned that anyone arrested will not be released until after the election.

She added that any vehicle caught will be impounded.

According to her, “election should not be a do-or-die affairs, that we are related one way or the other, election will come and go. We will still come back to our base as family.”

She warned that anyone who get involved in any form of violence will be arrested and face the full wrath of the law.
