A Lawyer whose identity was not known was rough-handled by men of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) for coming to submit a petition on behalf of his client whose car was allegedly impounded illegally.
The Lawyer was pushed by the Customs men after a superior Officer ordered them to detain him despite performing his duty as a counsel to his client.
The message below and the video accompanying it has gone viral in the Social Media,
“☝🏻This is the height of high handedness and disrespect for rule of law and order by men and officers of the Nigeria Customs Service. This is a video of the men of the service manhandling a lawyer who was invited to accompany his client to resolve a petition written by the lawyer on behalf of his client whose car was unlawfully impounded by the customs officers.
A Senior Officer at the Headquarters ordered his men to manhandle and detain the lawyer just because the lawyer expressed a legal opinion about the illegality of their action in impounding the vehicle of his client.
