Luiz’s Chelsea return
Luiz in his first stinct played for Chelsea between 2011 and 2014 before signing with Ligue 1 outfit, PSG.
However, the Brazilian would return to Stamford Bridge in August of 2016 from PSG for a fee of around £31.5 million.

However, the 2017/18 season was not a good one for Luiz.
Everybody knows maybe I had to move clubs’
The 31-year-old played just 10 Premier League games last season and reportedly had a bust-up with then Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte.
He was even linked with a move away this summer and according to the defender himself, if Conte had stayed on as Chelsea boss, he may well have left Stamford Bridge this summer.

“I learned a lot, sometimes you have to be patient, sometimes you have to take care of your body, sometimes you have to learn from outside to be good in the future. So for me it was great.
“I got time to take care of my body; many times I was on the pitch in pain, and I never refused to play one game. It was good to rest and be fresh.
“If the manager had stayed the same, of course, everybody knows maybe I had to move clubs. Now I am here and so happy.”

Luiz under Maurizio Sarri
Luckily for Luiz, Antonio Conte departed Chelsea over the summer and has been replaced with Maurizio Sarri.
He has started in both of Sarri’s Premier League games this season vs Arsenal and Huddersfield.
Sarri has also spoken very highly of Luiz and believes he is a top player.
“I very much enjoy his attitude when I am working with him,
“He is also a very good player and a very good defender.
“David is very good at building up action from our defence with the way he plays. David has a big future here. He will be very useful for us but not just on the pitch, he is also important in the dressing room.”
