The dreaded and deadly CORONA VIRUS (COVID.19) has killed an Assistant Comptroller of Customs, G.A. Bamigboye at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan on Wednesday, April 23, 2020.

According to a reliable source who would not want his mentioned, he said Bamigboye was serving in Kano before he decided to come to Ibadan for brief a visit.

According to our reliable source,

He is serving in Kano but he died at Ibadan.”

“He was serving in Kano Jigawa Command AC BAMIGBOYE, he left Kano to Ibadan to meet his family two weeks ago.”

“Few days ago he complained about fever and was taken to a private hospital, on Sunday he couldn’t move again and was rushed to ICU UNIT UCH IBADAN but later died yesterday morning and result of the test confirm COVID-19.”

The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) in a Public Notice to all the stakeholders said GA Bamigboye was a victim of COVID-19.

PUBLIC NOTICE: 

This is to inform all officers/men of Nigeria Customs Service, Licensed Customs Agents and terminal operators especially those working or transacting business at APMT of the death of an Assistant Comptroller of Customs, GA Bamigboye, Cause of death was Covid 19. The APMT terminal Kano is therefore shut down indefinitely, All officers serving at APMT should go on self isolation immediately and any one that has had any contact with him between March 26 and April 9th should please contact Dr. Adesida 08068649694. The terminal and the barrack will also be decontaminated immediately.
