Gov Gboyega Oyetola: There was an exchange of baton today in the State of Osun as Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola bowed out for Gboyega Oyetola to come in as new governor of the state.
The mammoth crowd at Osogbo Stadium on Tuesday was unprecedented. Those who were outside the stadium tripled those who were able to come into the venue of the inauguration of the new State Executive Governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
It was a glorious day for the Governor Gboyega Oyetola and ex-governor Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.
In his inaugural speech, the new governor promised to continue from where Ogbeni Aregbesola stopped and improve on it.
He promised to organize Osun Economic Summit strategy within the first quarter of his administration that would bring about;
“conducive environment on security, agricultural development, mining, industrialization and tourism.”

“We shall prioritise the welfare of workers and pensioners to advance the success recorded by the last administration and make sure everybody feels the impact of progressive government.
“We are convinced that the peaceful atmosphere and relative stability of electricity in the state will attract investment.”
“We shall also improve on the IGR and improve agricultural activities to attract nine new farm settlements and grow the agro-industry sector to ensure food security and create 30,000 thousand jobs.â€
Few of the important dignitaries at the event are, the National Interim Chairman of APC, Bisi Akande, the current National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Lagos State Governor, Akinwummi Ambode, Kano State governor, Abdulahi Ganduje, Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Ooni of Ife, HRH Oba Ogunwusi Adeyeye, Alaafin of Oyo, HRH Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and a host of others.
