IRAN has reacted to the ceasefire announcement by the United States President Donald Trump on Monday, June 23, 2025 to “The 12 Day War” between Iran and Israel.

Iran Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in a conditional statement said Iran has no intention to strike if Israel stopped its aggression.

The Minister has just posted on its official X Page monitored by SOJ WORLDWIDE saying that if Israel stops its “illegal aggression” now, Iran has “no intention to continue our response afterwards“.

Araghchi said Israel must stop by 04:00 local time, which has just passed:

As Iran has repeatedly made clear: Israel launched war on Iran, not the other way around.

“As of now, there is NO “agreement” on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations.

However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards.

“The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later.”

The updates say that Israel’s defensive systems are operating to intercept the missiles, and that the public must enter a protected space and remain there until further notice.

Some US Democrats have been reacting to Trump’s claim of a ceasefire with mild praise.

I give extremely high marks to this national security team and President Trump for managing this crisis,” Brett McGurk, former President Joe Biden’s Middle East coordinator, shared in an interview with CNN.

“But now let’s follow through. There’s a chance for diplomacy here,” he added.

“I’m glad that President Trump isn’t escalating further” Congresswoman Sara Jacobs wrote on X.
