Abuja Council Election Results 2026 – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the official release and collation of results from the 2026 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections, with verified figures now appearing on the commission’s official result portal.

According to INEC, results from polling units across the six area councils are currently being uploaded and collated in line with the commission’s legally established procedure.

The election was conducted across the following six area councils in Abuja:

  • Abaji
  • Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC)
  • Bwari
  • Gwagwalada
  • Kuje
  • Kwali

INEC officials confirmed that collation is ongoing at ward and local government levels before final aggregation at the FCT collation centre.

Final Winners Yet To Be Declared

Although preliminary results are now visible on the INEC result viewing portal, the commission has stressed that no final winners have been declared yet.

By law, only the designated INEC Returning Officers can announce final results after full verification and collation are completed.

INEC Urges Public To Rely On Official Results

INEC has advised Nigerians, political parties, and stakeholders to rely only on figures released through its official channels.

The commission warned against misinformation and urged the public to disregard unverified results circulating on social media platforms.

What Happens Next

INEC is expected to:

  • Complete collation of all polling unit results
  • Verify and reconcile figures across collation centres
  • Declare winners for chairmanship and councillorship seats
