According to the host, the inspector sent him a message at about 7:37 p.m. on Tuesday, October 13. It said his office had called for his arrest. However, the inspector reportedly chose to report himself the next morning.
Four minutes later, at 7:41 p.m., he sent another message. Officers had reportedly arrived at his duty post to pick him up. “They couldn’t even wait for the morning,” the host said. The inspector reportedly told the officers to wait and promised to report himself the next day.
On Wednesday morning, the host called the inspector several times and got no answer. Later, he received a short message. “I’m on transit going to see them,” it read, according to the host. The host says he has not yet received a full report. Therefore, the inspector’s exact status remains unclear.
The host also said Nigerians responded warmly after the interview went viral. He said he pinned the inspector’s account number under his posts, and many people sent money. The inspector, he added, was shocked by the level of kindness.
The Force has not commented on the interview or on the reported arrest order. Sojworldnews will update this story when the police respond.
