About the Role
International Breweries PLC is looking for a skilled and result-driven Laboratory Technician (Packaging) for its plant in South-East Nigeria. The role reports to the QC Specialist. The successful candidate will carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples and packaged product.
Requirements
- Minimum of B.Sc. or HND in Biological Sciences, Microbiology or a related field
- 1 to 2 years’ experience as a Laboratory Technician
- Good knowledge of micro laboratory systems, processes and analyses
- Experience in applying problem-solving techniques and statistics
- Good understanding of HACCP, GMP standards and CIP requirements
- PC literacy and information systems knowledge
- Good knowledge of AB InBev manufacturing processes and philosophies
- Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and specialists
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good auditing skills, analytical ability and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Prepare samples and conduct sample analyses
- Request chemicals, reagents and other working tools from specialists
- Keep equipment maintained and calibrated according to manualized methods
- Carry out specialized quality analyses that the shift-based teams do not handle
- Record analysis results on the appropriate information systems and communicate them where required
