A 42-year-old man, ldowu Benson has been arrested by police detectives in Oba-ile area, Ondo state for cutting off two fingers of his wife Kemi for money ritual.
Police source hinted that the suspect on August 3 this year at about 7:30pm put on a mask and armed with cutlass pretended to be an hired assasin invaded his own house and attacked his wife. The attack took place at Kardors College Street, off Akure/ Owo expressway, Oba-ile in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
During the attack, the suspect informed the wife on gaining entry into the house that he was sent to kill her and in the process matcheted her on the head and cut off two of her fingers.
The fingers were chopped off while the wife tried to fence off the machete from beheading her. The suspect even asked the wife the whereabouts of her husband during the attack.
The suspect went away with his wife two fingers which was alleged was for money rituals.
The wife bled profusely until help came from neighbours who heard her distress call. It was reported at the police station and detectives swung into action only to reveal it was an inside job.
SOJWORLD gathered the suspects telephone dropped inside the room from his pocket while he attacked his wife.
After the attack, the suspect later returned to the house and searched for his telephone.
The suspect was invited and their investigation revealed that and he confessed to the police. The police image maker Femi Joseph said the suspect confessed attacking the wife blaming it on the devil.

The suspect however denied using the chopped off fingers for money rituals. According to Joseph the suspect was yet to confess where he kept the two fingers he chopped.
The suspect attacked his wife with cutlass and attempted to kill her. â€He has not confessed to police detectives where he kept the fingers or what he had done with them.â€He kept saying it was not cut off for money rituals.
