Two prominent kings in Yorubaland, Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi have put the past behind them as they recently sheath their swords after over a year.

In a 25-second video that went viral last April, Akiolu shunned an attempt by the Ooni to exchange pleasantries with him. Even though Akiolu said no such thing occurred, both men usually kept a distance from each other afterwards whenever they met at events.

However, events took a good turn when the duo met at Aliko Dangote’s daughter’s wedding in Kano last Friday. Not only did the two respected monarchs embrace, they sat beside each other and chatted for several minutes to the admiration of many who beheld the sight.
