A retired Director of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, Mr. Dipo Omotosho, has come out strongly against Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, the Osun State Commissioner for Business and Empowerment, following a controversial interview the Commissioner granted on Fresh FM. Omotosho accused Ogungbangbe of playing petty politics and attempting to defame a respected lawmaker, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke.
Hon. Oke, who represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and serves as Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, has been a beacon of quality representation and people-oriented governance.
Omotosho condemned Ogungbangbe’s remarks, describing them as irresponsible and unprovoked. He advised the Commissioner to focus on his primary responsibilities in the Adeleke-led administration, instead of acting like a political attack dog.
“Rather than contribute meaningfully to the party, Ogungbangbe has been known to approach Hon. Wole Oke only when in need, often pleading for assistance, including cars,” Omotosho alleged.

He further stressed that assigning critical roles to individuals based on political loyalty rather than competence is dangerous for governance. “When underqualified individuals are handed leadership roles, incompetence and sycophancy take center stage. Poor leadership begets poor outcomes,” he added.
According to Omotosho, while critical issues such as decaying infrastructure, lack of teachers and healthcare workers, and high youth unemployment plague Osun State, Ogungbangbe has ignored these challenges. Instead, he chooses to go on air to attack a lawmaker who has consistently delivered for his constituents.
“Hon. Wole Oke’s decision to leave the PDP was not taken in isolation,” Omotosho clarified. “He consulted widely with his family, constituents, and political stakeholders before aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda particularly due to promises of youth empowerment, infrastructure development in Ijesa North, and the immortalisation of late sage, Chief Bola Ige.”
Omotosho emphasized that political ambition should be discussed with discretion and decorum. “There is no provision for independent candidacy in our constitution. If Hon. Wole Oke plans to contest in the future, it must be under a party platform unlike the baseless claims and assumptions being thrown around by Ogungbangbe,” he noted.
He urged the Commissioner to emulate individuals like Mayowa Adejorin, who have openly acknowledged that Hon. Oke has never discussed any future political ambition with anyone, insisting that the lawmaker is currently focused on fulfilling his mandate in the ongoing National Assembly.
In conclusion, Omotosho reminded the public that Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke remains a seasoned, respected, and result-oriented politician whose record of service speaks louder than political propaganda. “While others are busy chasing clout, Hon. Oke is busy building lives,” he declared.
