HARETER Babatunde Oralusi has officially declared his intention to contest for the Osun State Governorship under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2026 elections.
Oralusi declared his intention at Ile-Ife on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
He emphasized the need for Osun State to complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, focusing on sustainable development, economic transformation, and inclusive growth.
He pledged to end the era of entitlement and cabal politics, ensuring that Osun State’s resources serve the people, not just the privileged few.
Oralusi highlighted his commitment to building development-driven states and empowered local governments, with a focus on job creation, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment.
He emphasized his experience in development finance, entrepreneurship, and innovation, which he believes will bring practical, modern, and technology-driven governance to Osun State.
He sought the support, prayers, and partnership of the people of Osun State, party faithful, and stakeholders to build a new Osun aligned with the Renewed Hope vision of President Tinubu.
Oralusi envisioned a peaceful, prosperous Osun that becomes a model for sustainable development in Nigeria.
“For far too long, few individuals have treated our collective wealth as personal inheritance. They have cornered opportunities meant for the people and turned governance into self-enrichment. That era must end.
The era where Osun’s common resources are held hostage by few must give way to a new dawn, a dawn of accountability, transparency, and shared prosperity. I am here to say boldly: Osun belongs to all of us.
We must reclaim our destiny and return governance to where it truly belongs to the citizens of Osun State. The Time is Now and No One Would be Left Behind.
Building Development-Driven States and Empowered Local Governments.
My belief is simple: if every state in Nigeria had visionary, selfless, and innovative leaders, leaders who prioritise people over power. our nation would be a global success story.
Development does not start from Abuja; it starts from the states and local governments.
This is why I am deeply committed to restoring full autonomy and functionality to local governments, because that is where the people are, and where progress begins.
Under my leadership, every local government will be a centre of development, enterprise, and opportunity. We will rebuild infrastructure, empower youth entrepreneurs, expand access to education, and leverage technology to create jobs and wealth for our people.”
