THE Osun Amotekun Commander, High Chief Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, has rebuked the Osun State Police for their response to the attempted assassination on his life.
In a statement release by the Public Relations Officer of the Amotekun available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, the Commander expressed disappointment saying Police response was insensitive and misleading.
The police had earlier claimed that investigations couldn’t begin without evidence from the commander.

Reacting to the statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), who claimed that investigations had not commenced because the Commander had not provided evidence of the attack, the Amotekun boss expressed deep disappointment, labeling the police response as insensitive and misleading.
“It is shocking that a police spokesperson would say there is no evidence of an attack when the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ota-Efun Division — the nearest jurisdiction to the incident — was immediately informed,” the Commander said.
“Officers from that division visited the scene the same night, assessed the damage, evacuated the vehicle, and advised me to seek urgent medical attention due to injuries I sustained.

The DPO is highly commended and deserves commendation for swift response. That vehicle is still at the Ota-Efun Police Division till now.”
He added that members of the press and the public can visit the police station to independently verify the vehicle’s presence and condition.
“It is painful that the police are playing to the gallery instead of acting swiftly. There is no excuse for not beginning an investigation when the evidence — the riddle vehicle — is already in their custody. The lives of citizens should matter to every security agency,” he said.
The Commander further urged the Police PRO to “cache the facts” and properly verify information before releasing statements to the public.
He emphasized that the role of security agencies should be to protect lives and uphold truth, not downplay serious threats or cast doubts on real dangers.
