GOVERNOR of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reacted to the delay in the recruitment of Teachers and Imole Corps in the State.

Speaking as the guest of the 6th Edition of Media Parley organized by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA), the Spokesperson to the Governor of the Osun State, Mallam Olawale Rasheed aka MOR attributed the delay to the recruitment of the Teachers and Imole Corps as a result of the new minimum wage that came in at the time of planning and the recruitment process.

What is our financial strength if we are to recruit? Can we sustain the salaries, how much are we earning? New minimum wage is  coming in, if we are to make announcement will it not affect the gradual payment of pension debt we met on ground? Will it not affect the ongoing payment of half salaries? You have to put all these things into consideration before announcement of any recruitment.”

According to Mallam Rasheed, the delay in announcement of recruitment came because the

“government wanted to conclude the issue of minimum wage so that we will now compare it with the incomes from the federal allocation and the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) before we can make our final decision.”

The MOR revealed that Governor Adeleke will make announcement on Teachers and Imole Youth Corps recruitment in the course of the anniversary celebration to put a final seal to the issue.

On the barricades on the Olaiya flyover bridge, MOR said there was no political undertone to the barricade but to prevent unforseen disaster that could occur if prevention is not taken urgently.

He said government took the action over the influx of heavy duty vehicles passing through the flyover bridge in Osogbo coming from other states as a result of bad roads in the affected states.
