Former Deputy Governor to Alao Akala in Oyo State, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has said he is confident that he would win the Southwest Chairmanship election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that is ongoing at the WOCDIF Events Centre, Osogbo.

He made the statement while speaking to media men at the venue of the congress,
“The morning shows the night as you can see, Insha Alau because the God of yesterday is the God of the day before yesterday, he is the God of today.”
“It would happen again and we would win, Insha Alau,. I am confident because we have the people and democracy is a game of numbers”

“As you can see everything is thorough, everything is straightforward, there would not be any ‘magomago’.
When asked about those who were arrested, Arapaja refused to mention whom he suspected but said, “those who were arrested were linked to one of them. I dont want to mention names, you all see it in the social media yesterday, we are trying to bring everyone together.”
He said if he is elected, he understands that all the chapters of PDP in the Southwest are sharply divided, we have to bring ourselves together. We have to be one family. If we don’t come together, we cant see anything, if you look at it, before 2003 we are controlling five out of six states, today we have only one state.”
“Something must be wrong, there are so many factions in PDP which we need to bring together. So we must speak with one voice, it is not a matter of being the Chairman.”
When asked if he did not win the election, he said, “one with God will ever win, am positive we are going to win.”
