OSUN Police arrests fake Police Officer (Lady) who steals, runs away with POS Machine, cash in Osogbo

A middle aged woman identified as Lawrence Olayemi has been arrested by the Osun State Police Command for allegedly impersonating Police Officer to steal a POS Machine and ran away with the machine and cash made for the day.

In a Press Release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Yemisi Opalola available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, the suspect was rescued from angry mob by the men of the Police Command.

Police recovered various items which includes, the sum of N246,650, One Opay POS Machine valued N30,000, Android serviceable phone, One EKSU ID Card and one Voter’s Card, two POS Business Record Books and One ITEL small phone without battery.

“On 9/5/2023 at about 1500hrs, one Lawrence Olayemi was rescued by the police from mob for alleged stealing and brought to Ata-Oja Division.”

“In the course of interrogation, it was discovered that some times in the month of April, 2023 the above suspect went to a POS stand belonging to one Oyero Odunayo but managed by a sale girl and presented herself as a Police Officer serving at Ata-Oja division that she is under arrest and ordered her to follow her to the Station having seized the victim’s bag containing one pos machine valued yet unknown, sum of N20,000.00 one small phone valued N15,000 but along the road as they were going, the suspect tricked the victim by asking her to make a photocopy of a document but before the victim could come back, the suspect ran away with the seized bag.”

“The following items stolen from another victim were recovered from her. (1) The sum of N246,650 (2) Opay POS machine valued N30,000 (3) One android service able phone (4) One Eksu ID card and one voters card (5) two POS business record books (6) one Itel small phone without battery (7) all contained in black bag.

The suspect transferred the sum of one hundred thousand (N100,000) from the POS machine to an account in one of the commercial banks.

The suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.”
