A Young Lady identified as Adetutu Adedokun, an Officer working with the Department of State Security (DSS) was on Thursday, November 10, 2022 committed suicide after she reportedly jumped inside the lagoon at the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State. 

 

 

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the incident happened in a flash when suddenly the lady alighted from a cab and plunged into the lagoon.

 

 

The Uber driver revealed that an argument had ensued between the lady and her fiance before she hopped out and plunged into the lagoon.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has already deployed its rescue team to search for the lady.

Upon arrival of the LRT at the incident scene, investigation revealed that a lady is in her late thirties (30s). 

Further investigation by the LASEMA boss revealed a verbal brawl between the lady and her husband, who was also inside the cab before the tragic incident.

Confirming this development, LASEMA permanent secretary Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said his team is currently handling the situation, and the search has proceeded.

THE LASEMA BOSS SAID:

“The LRT men of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LASWA, and officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) are currently on the ground working better together to search for the victim.”

 

tweep, Jackson Ude also confirmed the development on his Twitter handle on Thursday.

He wrote: “This beautiful lady named Tutu, a staff of the Department of State Services, DSS, jumped into the Lagos Lagoon after a heated argument with her boyfriend.
Only four months ago, Tutu got commendation from the DG, DSS, as the best unarmed combat operative in her set.”

 

 

 

 

 

Reacting to the lady’s death, a tweep @tickin_clocks said: “I have a feeling that the Lagos lagoon calls out to its victims.”

Another tweep, @jite_t who agrees with @tickin_clocks shared his experience on the lagoon.

He tweeted: “You are correct. Many years ago, i was a teenager walking to obalende barrack,i looked.into the water from the bridge,i had this very stronge feeling to jump. Something was just telling me the water was not deep. Then it used to be very clean that you could see the sea bed.”

 

 

 

 

 

@gbadamosiwole who think Tutu jumped to her death because of a broken relationship wrote: “Won’t he date another girl and marry? Folks don’t be so attached to anyone. It doesn’t mean you don’t love them or passionate about them, it means you are strong and you can anchor ⚓ / stablize the relationship when tough times comes and everyone feels like quiting!”
