A recent survey by Geopolitical Survey International (GSI) has revealed widespread anger among Osun State residents against the Federal Government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the prolonged seizure of local government funds.
The survey, which sampled 10,000 respondents across nine federal constituencies, showed that:
– 86% of respondents blame the Federal Government for the crisis, calling it “illegal and unconstitutional.”

– 87% vowed to vote against the APC in future elections.
– 85% declared support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if elections were held today.
The survey also found that women are disproportionately affected by the crisis, with 84% of respondents identifying them as the most negatively impacted. Only 10% mentioned men, while 6% were undecided.
The survey’s findings suggest significant political consequences for the APC. Lead consultant Dr. Adeyemo Adeyefa noted that the fund seizure has increased hardship for women and eroded APC’s favourability.

PDP’s acceptance has risen from 65% to almost 85% in August, indicating a potential shift in the state’s political landscape.
The survey’s results underscore the growing anger among Osun residents against the APC and the Federal Government’s actions.
The findings suggest that the PDP may gain significant ground in the state, and the APC’s strategy may have backfired.
