The casualty into the 24 storey building gutted by fire Wednesday would have been higher but the quick intervention of Muslim faithfuls who were having their early morning prayers.

In the video, one of the victims was seen saying “thank you Ramadan, thank you for Ramadan,”

“They ran into the building, if it wasn’t for all these Muslim boys, they are here helping us coming from Mosques…people would’ve died. A lot more people would’ve died.

They wanna talk about them when they do wrong and all these kinda thing. When they doing bad, when they doing good they were the first people with bags of water giving to people and helping people. Running and telling people, yeah all over, everywhere.”

A total of 58 people are dead or missing, presumed dead following the devastating fire at Grenfell Tower in West London, police said.

The fire broke out at the 24-storey block, which contained 120 one and two-bedroom flats, shortly before 01:00 BST on Wednesday.

It tore through all floors of the building and took more than 200 fire fighters took 24 hours to bring under control.

In a video clip just released, the casualty could have been more but for the timely intervention of Muslims who woke for their Ramadan prayers who rescued many in the inferno.

Earlier, residents caught up in the fire condemned the relief efforts as “absolute chaos.”

In her official birthday message, the Queen of England reflected on the “sombre national mood” following tragedies in London and Manchester in recent weeks.

She said, in an unprecedented statement, that she had been “profoundly struck by the immediate inclination of “people throughout the country to offer comfort and support to those in desperate need.

“Put to the test, the United Kingdom has been resolute in the face of adversity, ”she said.
