Grammy Award winner, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid, in a new video that recently surfaced online, declares his presidential ambition.
Wizkid, the “Essence” crooner in the clip that has generated significant impressions online, declares his intention to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The rare clip surfaced online today, January 8th, 2025, after Wizkid became the First African artiste to reach 10billion streams on the music streaming platform, Spotify.

However, Wizkid did not just announce his intention to run for the presidential seat; the singer also announced his political party.
The “Made in Lagos” superstar stated that his political party would be different from conventional parties such as the PDP, APC and Labour Party. He added that the party would be called the “Wizkid Political Party.”
Wizkid gives his party the acronym “WPP”. He made this known in the presence of his family members and friends as they had fun together. He is yet to reveal the year he will be going for the presidency.
In his words, “Wizkid political party, WPP, I am running for presidency in the year 20..”
