Notable Quotes From the APC PCC Inauguration: What Tinubu, Shettima, Wike, Adeleke and Soludo Said

The inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) produced several notable quotes. President Bola Tinubu urged campaign leaders to deliver votes. Meanwhile, Vice President Kashim Shettima took aim at Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. Governors and ministers also pledged their support. Here are the key quotes from the event.

President Bola Tinubu

The President told campaign leaders that thanks must wait until the work is done.

“I thank all of you for the last election, but no one gets credit for an incomplete assignment until you deliver the next election, until you deliver your wards, until you deliver the votes before we can say thank you.”

He also explained how he plans to balance campaigning with governing.

“I will make time to speak directly with Nigerians even as you lead the campaign to states and local government areas, so you will excuse me from going everywhere with you.”

Vice President Kashim Shettima

Shettima spoke about former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

“I’ll respect Atiku as former VP, I will not follow Babachir Lawal and call him Kachalla. Atiku who contested for the 8th time, he’s not Abraham Lincoln. He’s more of Odinga Odinga.”

He also criticised the economic proposals of Peter Obi.

“Peter Obi, the master of bourgeois statistics and incoherent economic prescriptions, seems convinced that a size 36 shirt tailored for Bangladesh will somehow fit Nigeria’s size 52 frame. What succeeds in Bangladesh cannot simply be transplanted to Nigeria without accounting for differences in our population and economic structure.”

FCT Minister Nyesome Wike

Wike pledged votes for the President from Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory.

“Let me say and pledge, by the grace of God, Rivers and FCT will vote massively for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If you don’t deliver your state and the president wins, don’t say we have won. I told the Chief of Staff, if the President wins but you don’t win in Lagos, don’t say we have won.”

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke

Governor Adeleke said he is ready to lead the movement in 2027.

“I can feel the victory coming in 2027. Nobody can stop this movement. I’m ready to lead this movement. We’re going to sing, we’re going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock.”
