LATEST UPDATE, Thursday, October 15, 2026: Online broadcaster English Alhaji says Inspector Samson is now in detention at the Enugu State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). He also says his team will file a petition on the inspector’s behalf today. The Force has not confirmed the detention, and Sojworldnews could not independently verify it.
English Alhaji, who interviewed the inspector, made the claims in a new video. He said the inspector gave up a great deal to speak for his colleagues. According to him, he offered to blur the inspector’s face before releasing the first interview. However, the inspector refused and chose to speak openly.
English Alhaji said he warned him about the risks. He asked whether the move could even lead to dismissal. The inspector said yes and told him he was ready. Moreover, English Alhaji said he asked the same question again, and the inspector gave the same answer. “The suffering is worse than the consequences,” he quoted the inspector as saying.
English Alhaji said the inspector spoke for fellow officers who face hardship but stay silent. Many of them, he explained, fear for their families. He then asked police officers and ordinary Nigerians to support the inspector. He also asked for prayers.
He announced two plans. First, his team will file a petition on the inspector’s behalf and will share it with the public once it is done. Second, the team is considering raising funds for the inspector’s wife and children while he remains in detention. He said he will announce the details once the team agrees on them. “He needs your support,” English Alhaji said.
The Force has not commented on the inspector’s alleged detention or on English Alhaji’s claims. Sojworldnews will update this story when the police respond.
