Bandit Flaunting Firearms Finally Tracked and Arrested
Operatives of the Force Intelligence Department arrested the suspects during a covert operation.
The arrest took place along the Komen–Masallaci axis in Kaiama Local Government Area.
Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the operation on December 19.
He said officers worked closely with the Kwara State Police Command.
The suspects were identified as Abubakar Usman, also known as Siddi, and Shehu Mohammadu, called Gide.
Both men were arrested inside Komen–Masallaci village.
Bandit Flaunting Firearms Linked to Kidnapping and Ransom Crimes
Investigations revealed that the bandit flaunting firearms belonged to a dangerous kidnapping syndicate.
The gang reportedly terrorised communities across Katsina, Zamfara, Niger, and Kwara states.

They also allegedly supplied weapons to other criminal groups.
Recovered items included a brand-new Honda Ace 125 motorcycle valued at ₦1.85 million.
Investigators said ransom proceeds funded the purchase.
Officers also recovered ₦500,000 cash believed to be unspent ransom money.
An AK-47 rifle loaded with 20 rounds of live ammunition was seized.
Viral Video Led Police to Bandit Flaunting Firearms
Police confirmed that Abubakar Usman appeared in a viral video online.
In the clip, he flaunted firearms and large sums of money.
According to investigators, the video helped confirm his identity.
Surveillance teams intensified tracking after the footage circulated.
Suspects Now Cooperating With Police
Both suspects are currently assisting investigators, police said.
Their cooperation may lead to more arrests and weapon recoveries.
Security agencies believe the arrest has disrupted a wider criminal network.
